The Thrive Water Lab made a big show when it was announced a couple of months ago. There have been questions and discussions about it ever since it was revealed as it looked something different and larger than any other launch in the aquarium industry. The aquarium world is sincerely waiting for this device though we still didn’t know what the Thrive Water Lab is about or how it works or how it will be executed until now.
Not all the queries have been answered yet but Thrive Aquatics just released the spec sheet for their water testing kiosk. Stuffing enough high technology to be the Mars Curiosity Rover of the Aquarium World, the new Thrive Water Lab needs it all to execute its almost miraculous tasks.
If you think this is something absolute under the sun that aquarists can think of and can’t simply wait to try out what it is all about, what you can do is look for colorimetric accuracy, and all you have to do is pop in a water sample and a wait for the print out. Therefore it’s no shocker that the Thrive Water Lab has a large touchscreen interface, a built in receipt printer, a logitech webcam, Intel dual core processors and Nvidia graphics, and the list goes on.
Thrive Aquatics is still on way to roll out the Water Lab this summer, first around their home stomping ground of South Florida to be followed soon thereafter with some of Thrive’s power dealers.
The Water Lab ™ is a self-contained water analysis testing machine designed for local brick and mortar retail stores. The machine will be able to test freshwater, saltwater, reef and pond water parameters, 20+ tests overall per machine. The Water Lab ™ will be used by hobbyists through a customized user interface on the touch screen, allowing retail stores to focus on livestock husbandry and more time for better customer service. The Water Lab will store a customer’s profile and parameters, and provide customized dosing regiments and equipment maintenance tasks. The onboard printer will print the results. The proprietary method of dispensing and reading the water sample will eradicate cross contamination fears. The Thrive Water Lab ™ is set to be released late summer 2013.
