ATI LED T5 hybrid Powermodule is what you can call the New Year’s power packed lighting for reef aquariums. They were demoed last year and since then have been the most talked about lighting trend amongst reef aquarists. Well the wait ends this year as ATI, the company who has been successfully producing and manufacturing excellent aquarium lights, skimmers, water treatment products and many more that have been found to be of great help in maintaining reef tanks.

ATI LED Powermodule has been received well by those who used it and took the time to review it but here is what has been added this year – the T5 hybrid and the power capacity is awesome. The LED/T5 hybrid Powermodules is not available online now but it has been found to be announced to be available at ATI. We wish it will make a huge lot of difference in lighting reef tanks. There had been many changes and innovations in the past year in LED lights but T5 remained untouched. ATI took the lead and combined the LED technology and T5HO and created a light that has been most waited. Looks like our predictions about LED lights which we mentioned in our “What’s new this year for reef aquarists” article has already started to show up. The price of this product is yet to be known but here is what we could grab about it.
Regarding the LEDs in the hybrid Powermodule, they aren’t the usual blue diodes used only for color augmentation or to add a little twinkle. As a substitute, they are in fact high powered emitters that are enclosed by single reflectors and come in various colors of cool white, blue, royal blue, red and green. All things considered, each cluster comes with 20 fully controllable LEDs, with the amount of clusters changeable from 1 to 3 depending on the length of the fixture. Joint with the dimmable T5 bulbs, the fixture is totally controllable through computer based software interfaces that corresponds with the fixture via USB and the light’s ballast/controller box.

Free color design with proven light colors with 4 separate programmable color channel (blue, royal blue, white, red) per module can generate an infinite number of colors. Orientations as their proven T-5 light colors are pre-programmed.
The use of silver reflectors directs the light with an efficiency of 98% with practically no loss goal. This is different to other optics such as lenses or aluminum reflectors, whose competence is closer to 80-90%. The replaceable LED module provides room for alterations and further innovations. Well this lighting system is something worth experimenting with. The corals are going to enjoy the combinations are so are the dedicated aquarists.
